Bar-B-Que Honoring Maggie Paul and Brad Baker
"Slow down. Pay attention. Take your time". All these are ways of engaging life that run counter to the way we do things in our culture. They can spill over to our way of studying too, making for a rich and meaningful experience. Starting on Tuesday, May 21st, join us in the Library at Holy Comforter, at 12:15 pm, as we begin a study of the Gospel of Mark, not worrying about how fast we get through it, but how deep we go. We will look for details that bring the text to life. We will use some of the modern tools available to make sense of a work written millennia ago. We will stop often to make sure this is not purely an intellectual pursuit but an effort to draw closer to God and our neighbor. Share this with friends--all are welcome!
Such a glorious day...
Holy Saturday Liturgy in the Memorial Garden. It's a hard thing to stand at the grave on this day, especially standing so close to the final resting place of so many we love and see no more. And yet...it is also deeply comforting to know ourselves connected to the cloud of witnesses who in their own day, waited and prayed. See you tomorrow in church
Like other church leaders in town, your clergy and wardens are aware of the risk of bad weather tomorrow morning. We have discussed precautions with the usher team and will continue to monitor the situation carefully to keep us all safe. If it is raining at 9:45 a.m., we will begin the procession with palms in McMaster Hall.

Wonderful, wonderful Camp McDowell for Diocesan Convention. Come join us for a time of worship and joy tomorrow, February 10. Breakfast at 9, Eucharist at 10. Addendum: during the Bp’s address we learned of his plan to retire at the end of 2020. There were many of us who gulped around a big knot in the throat. More about all tomorrow at church. Addendum II: imagine my delight running into Andrew Alden and Connie Tapia, here for the Diocesan youth lock-in. 🤩
An opportunity we zeroed in on at vestry retreat. Maybe a road trip????
